Weapon abilities:

Courage Aura - The Excalibur is naturally drawn to those who are born to be leaders and warriors, but lack confidence and social or political standing - such as King Arthur. When wielding the blade, the user gains a great boost to their confidence, and courage. This manifests in the form of a delicate aura of light which emanates from the blade when held. [Immunity to fear effects while wielding.]


Magic Beam - The blade's edges and handle are crafted in such a way that magic can be channeled into the handle from the user's palms, and routed through the center of the blade then to the edges in order to be fired out in the shape of a crescent-like arc of projectile energy in the shape of the sword's arc that can cut into opponents from a range. The way this works is that the magical energy used to use weapon telekinetic weapon manipulation is channeled into the handle and condensed into a more pure, and kinetic form then shaped by the blade when flung out - as opposed to being created, and this is only allowed because of the specific mechanics within the blade itself.
[Requires Weapon Manipulation I] or [Pure Magic Control I] - meaning an Athena could use the blade's Magic Beam as well.

Weapon material: Mix of celestial bronze, and normal Iron makes the blade.

Why does this weapon match you: It generally finds itself accompanying more humble, and righteous warriors who also happen to find courage through usage of the blade, and become great leaders - who are involved in and generally, win, wars. Michael is very humble due to his low self esteem, and even so he has a sense of justice and compassion for others, being an individual who walks in the path of justice - which is what most wars are fought over. Also, he has been interested in Knights and swordplay since he was little, as stated in the Ares demigod application prior, so it'd be a perfect fit for him.


Weapon's Backstory: The sword Excalibur is commonly referred to in English folktale, but its origins are quite older than that. In-fact, the blade was actually made in ancient Greece -- not just by any normal blacksmith, either. By Hephaestus himself. This blade was made as a gift for Ares before Aphrodite betrayed him for the god of war. The blade is a long-sword, as in, a medium sized weapon - with intricate design of blade, hilt, handle, and pommel. Ares lost it long ago, and since then it has fallen into the hands of mythical leaders and war heroes, and taken on many names. Excalibur, Caliburn, Caldabolg Kaledvoulc'h, Calesvoul -- all the same sword.. Recently, it was retrieved for Ares by Hermes.



Item's Name: Oenamus' Aegis

Damage Reduction: Passively raises endurance by 17, lowers tile movement by one. Attacks with weapons have their damage cut in half unless you consume an additional 3 stamina. Lowers tile movement by one.

Item's Description: A kite-shield of medium size which can be used in attempts to reduce, and or nullify damage, depending of course on the strength of the attack. Made of celestial bronze, and aesthetically coated in a natural silver coating, the shield is adorned with a golden gem in its upper center.

Item Materials : Celestial Bronze, normal iron, enchanted gem.

Item Abilities:
Chains of War: Named after the concept of the chains of war binding an enlisted soldier as a warrior forever, this ability is the shield's main function aside from blocking attacks. The magical gem in the upper center of the shield can materialize two physical chain links, and fire them outward. If these chains make their mark, they can bind an opponent for a single turn - whilst rooting the user, and lower the opponent's stamina by 3 afterwards. Binding is based on the user's strength.

Ares' Aegis : The secondary, and more costly function of the shield. This allows the user to draw directly from their stamina reserves to channel intense magic into the gem adorning the shield, and create a protective field of magical energy around the body for 5 turns. This costs 15 stamina, and the energy field around the user reduces damage taken by 10, flatly. The energy field summoned takes the form of a gentle, yellow glow around the body. You can spend a full turn blocking instead of attacking to cut damage down by a quarter, said action roots you.

Item's Backstory: This shield was crafted for Oenamus after one of his more ancient descendants had proven himself to be a hero by becoming a king. Oenamus was the child of Sterope, a maiden of the Pleiads. After his death, the Olympic Games were made in his honor, and Oenamus' chariot race was named after him as well. The shield was commonly used to restrain Oenamus' attempted assassins, or foes on the battle-field, as well as to protect him from ill-harm with Ares' Aegis. After his death, it was reclaimed by Ares and placed in his personal armory.

It is not the actual sword of excalibur, but it can be a close replica/counterpart.

(King Arthur wouldn't be the son of ares btw and neither would Joan of Arc, a catholic warrior)
